Moï,
Louise from
France is speaking. Volunteer from the program “European Volunteer Service”,
I´d been working in Lucina Hagman Koulu, and living in Finland during 7 months.
My
volunteer work consisted in many different topics as: assisting teachers in language
courses, replacing teachers, creating some tools for entertaining courses,
sharing my culture… In sum, I would say that my volunteer work was about
HELPING. I made myself available for others, and there is no better feeling
than that.
My life in
Finland was a life of autonomy and travelling. In everyday life I had to manage
everything on my own, and, when time permitted it, I could explore around
(South and North –even further to Norway), “dive” in the finish culture,
different from mine.
I strongly
encourage all the youngsters (between 18 and 30 years old), to take contact
with a local organization (here in Kokkola it´s Villa Elba) and take part to an
EVS program (which could last 1 month to 1 year) in another country in Europe.
This is the best experience ever.
Heippa !
